This academic year, Form 2 is participating in the Reading Challenge. They have been tasked with reading as many books as they can over the course of the year.  

For each book they read, they complete a short activity and discuss it with their teacher.  Once they have read three books, they are awarded their Bronze Certificate. There is also a Silver Certificate for five books and a Gold Award for eight.

‘The Challenge fosters a love of reading through healthy competition and reward,’ says Dr Clare Harraway. ‘Pupils get the opportunity to discuss their books with each other, to do fun tasks on them, and to begin a journey of discovery finding new books which will soon become life-long friends.’

This term Erika, Tom, and Jack were awarded their Bronze Certificates by Miss Rebecca Dickson, Head of English. The rest of Form 2 is now keenly reading to gain their own certificates next term.
