It was another uplifting occasion for the school community when The Right Honourable The Lord Young of Cookham Bt CH PC, former Member of Parliament, Lord Privy Seal and Chief Whip of the House of Commons, was Guest of Honour at the second College Sunday of this new academic year. The whole experience was made the more special because of the fact that Lord Young's grandson, George, is Chief of Macquarie (Head of House).

Well done to our Year 9 and Year 10 pupils who were wearing their No.1 uniform for the first time and thank you to our Upper Sixth who have been passing on to a new generation of Pangbournians the art of polishing shoes. The Inter-Division Parade Cup is a fiercely contested competition that all divisions want to win, and an essential part of it is gleaming No.1 shoes.

This October College Sunday was only the second parade since March 2020 due to the restrictions created by the pandemic. Under the direction of our School Staff Instructor (SSI) Mr Andrew Davison, successor to Mr Colin Hearn, everyone relished the opportunity to participate in this whole school production in which every member of Year 9 to Upper Sixth had a part to play.

Families and friends were also making the most of gathering to support their children and friends. Sunday’s balmy autumnal weather was the icing on the cake.
