Year 11 student, Leo Robinson, has enjoyed an extremely successful start to the Formula 4 Winter Series, with race weekends in both Portugal and Spain before the Half Term break. In Portimão, Leo qualified in 3rd place for the three races and claimed two 2nd place finishes, racing against 37 other drivers.

In Valencia, Leo improved his qualifying position, gaining a front row start for all three races. He duly claimed two further 2nd places in the first 2 races of the Valencia weekend. For the final race, Leo started very strongly, moving immediately into a narrow lead off the line. Positions were tightly contested for the first few corners with the top 2 drivers running side by side and off track at times.

After the race order settled, Leo built a narrow lead which he maintained until lap 13 when the safety car came out due to an incident further down the field. The restart took place on lap 16, with Leo maintaining the lead, despite pressure from behind at the end of the long main straight. With the race nearing the end, a second incident further down the field caused another safety car, but racing resumed on lap 18 with a 1 lap dash to the line. Again, Leo held off the pressure from behind to claim a narrow victory.

Leo is currently 2nd in the overall Winter Series standings with further rounds to come at Circuit Aragon and Barcelona in the next two weekends. We are extremely proud of his hard work to get to this point and we are looking forward to seeing what lies ahead in his career.
